Project overview

File/folder sharing via links is a core functionality in pCloud. When these links are currently created, there are a set of settings in the pCloud WEB application that allow users to control access to the shared contents. Statistics show that, on average, more than 20,000 links are generated on a daily basis, with 1% of them having an additional setting enabled.

Provide the simplest and easiest user flow to create a link with additional settings to a folder in pCloud. The goal is for users to easily and quickly create a link with a share option.

The task involves developing high-fidelity wireframes + prototype in Figma.

What I did

  • I began my exploration process first by researching the competitors. I wanted to see and understand what are the solutions of pCloud's competitors for this type of problem.
  • Then I checked what are the sharing modal options in the pCloud WEB application.
  • After that I prioritize the main elements needed for the users in the first state of the modal and what are the technical requirements of the system, and then began my paper sketches. This process was back and forth.
  • And finally I jumped into Figma to design and prototype the modal.
